Challenge

Kalam, known as the 'paradise on earth' for its beauty and tourist appeal, is mainly situated in high altitudes. The Kalam River is crucial for both people and agriculture, but it is becoming a threat due to the severe impact of snow melting, rising water levels, and unexpected summer rains. The brief growing season has confined Kalam to a single cropping zone. The monsoon and climate change have harsh consequences in the geologically unstable valleys, making lives challenging, especially in the neglected environment caused by climate change.

On the other hand, Killa Saifulla is in the midst of barren mountains, experiencing a mostly dry climate that varies with elevation, including cool winters and warm summers. In the recent past, it has been significantly affected by drought. The district's economy primarily depends on agriculture and livestock.

Due to the recent flood, the situation has undergone a significant change for both Killa Saifullah and Kalam. The population is now categorized into socio-economic classes, including poor, middle, and upper-middle, as the flood has economically, socially, and emotionally devastated families. The loss of cherished family members, livestock, business opportunities, and agriculture has left affected families without a roof over their heads.

Solution

Revitalize the lives of 400 households affected by the flood. CYAAD aims to instill hope in communities and families, restoring their confidence to rebuild their lives. We seek to support 400 families impacted by the flood, aiding them in re-establishing income-generating activities that will breathe life back into their existence. Our goal is to enhance the socio-economic status of these families and restore the dignified lives of the victims.
