Educating Vulnerable Orphans in Morocco

Let's support orphan students who suffer from social and educational vulnerabilities

Inqad project (the Rescue Project) looks forward to creating an educational support center for orphan students threatened to drop out from school due to their poverty, as well as educational and social fragility. This center is about 400 square meters, and some philanthropists who are interested in saving children from being lost have contributed to its acquisition. Our association has proven to be successful in getting students back on track and facilitating their professional and social integration.

Approximately 200 children between the ages of 8 and 18 will benefit from the services of this compound, which will focus on providing educational support in the main subjects as well as educational activities to enhance their learning and develop their personalities. The rescue project will also provide mothers the opportunity to develop their educational methods, so that they can keep up with their children and save them from failing or leaving school.

Moroccan Orphans Need YOU!

Ignoring children that leave school in our city due to pressure or neglect only makes them victims of drug traffickers and targets for violent terrorist groups. Those who make it through the Mediterranean Sea, end up as illegal immigrants lost in the streets of Europe.

Over the past 10 years, our association has provided a special program to mitigate school dropout and to support orphans. Thanks to this program, they regained hope of building a secure future for themselves and their families.

Support classes and activities have always relied on volunteers, who find the fruits of their efforts to return to them after a couple of years. Many of our students come back to us as volunteers, since they have witnessed their transition from students threatened with failure to students who control their educational path and make their own future.

Our constant thinking of protecting more children who have lost their parents is our motivation for the construction of a special center for educational support that enhances our teaching capabilities and saves more children.

The space we seek to create consists of:

The ground floor, which will include 4 classrooms, an administration office, and restrooms.
The underground floor, which will include a theater hall, a library, a kitchen, and restrooms as well.

It will be an independent educational center that integrates our pedagogical approaches. The center will be located next door to the “Al-Amal Center for Social Development”, which accommodates many activities and trainings for vulnerable groups, the department of orphan sponsorship, which provides other social services to the orphans and their mothers. It is also close to Al-Amal Club for Sports (100 meters away). This club is an essential part of our educational approach.

Our work in the field of educational support is built on top of a cooperation of many individuals and partners, whether in the public sector, private sector, or NGOs. They have pushed us to expand our services to more numbers. Hence, in 2020, we were able to acquire a space, which was contributed by donors who appreciate our efforts and believe in the importance of educational projects for young people. We then bought the second half to complete our vision for this project. One of the young engineers submitted a proposal for an engineering design suitable for our project. We drew up a draft budget and obtained the financial estimates required to start the preparation work. We expect the work to start at the beginning of 2022 and the space to be ready for the next academic year 2022/2023.

While we cannot stop the causes that led many children to drop out of school, we can provide the opportunity to organize and coordinate the potential of our society to support orphans and their mothers. We present ourselves as mediators for them, between those who help and wish to contribute to the construction of this center, and those who can teach and inspire, and cultivate hope in their hearts, and safety in their future.
