Summary

This project aims to create an educational support center for orphan students.

Challenge

Orphaned children in Morocco are under the threat of droping out from school due to their poverty, as well as due to their educational and social fragility.

While the causes that led many children to drop out of school can not be stopped, this project provides an opportunity to organize and coordinate the potential of our society to support orphans and their mothers.

Ignoring children that leave school in our city due to pressure or neglect only makes them victims of drug traffickers and targets for violent terrorist groups. Those who make it through the Mediterranean Sea, end up as illegal immigrants lost in the streets of Europe.

Solution

Approximately 200 children between the ages of 8 and 18 will benefit from the services of this educational support compound, which will focus on providing educational support in the main subjects as well as educational activities to enhance their learning and develop their personalities. The rescue project will also provide mothers the opportunity to develop their educational methods, so that they can keep up with their children and save them from failing or leaving school.

The educational space will consist of: 

• The ground floor, which will include 4 classrooms, an administration office, and restrooms.
• The underground floor, which will include a theater hall, a library, a kitchen, and restrooms as well.

It will be an independent educational center that integrates our pedagogical approaches. The center will be located next door to the “Al-Amal Center for Social Development”, which accommodates many activities and trainings for vulnerable groups, the department of orphan sponsorship, which provides other social services to the orphans and their mothers. It is also close to Al-Amal Club for Sports (100 meters away). This club is an essential part of the educational approach.
