Summary
The campaign aims to provide theoretical and practical training on the topic of human rights to 30 individuals, funded through scholarships, conducted by field experts such as academics, human rights activists, and lawyers, spanning an 8-month duration.
Challenge
Did you know that every day, hundreds of human rights violations occur around the world? And that individuals whose rights are violated often lack access to justice or cannot find enough people to defend them against these violations.
Solution
As Wolas, we aim to elevate our ongoing advocacy efforts in the field of human rights and international law to a new level. Therefore, we are launching the campaign to increase the number of lawyers, academics, and human rights activists working in the field and to facilitate access to justice for everyone.
Since its establishment, Wolas has been engaged in monitoring, reporting, and legal operations in countries and regions where human rights violations occur. Through a global network of lawyers spanning over 30 countries, Wolas aims to ensure access to justice and universal human rights for individuals regardless of nationality, religion, language, or race. This involves identifying human rights violations, providing policy recommendations for ending such violations, and initiating legal proceedings when necessary.
We continuously expand our efforts towards this goal with the involvement of academics and lawyers operating in various regions, including Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.
Considering the high prevalence of human rights violations, it will be evident that increasing the number of trained individuals to operate in this field is essential. Therefore, we aim to enhance the number of individuals through training provided by competent lawyers and academics specializing in human rights and international law. A total of 30 individuals will receive theoretical training for two sessions of 3 months each, followed by 2 months of practical training. Thus, the training not only encompasses theoretical knowledge but also aims to provide field experience by involving participants in report preparation, monitoring, and legal processes under the supervision of experienced practitioners in these fields.
