Summary
The campaign aims to support farmers by providing them with 1,000 olive trees.
Challenge:
The town of Abasan Alkabira with a population of 30,000 primarily engaged in agriculture, has experienced substantial loss of olive trees and livelihoods due to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Over the years, tens of thousands of olive trees have been uprooted, leaving many farmers without their sole source of income. This degradation has not only impacted the local biodiversity but also affected the overall green landscape of the eastern areas of Abasan Alkabira.
Solution
At Rural Association, our goal is to assist farmers in reclaiming their essential role, status, and confidence in their land by replanting the devastated olive fields that once served as their sole livelihood.
The campaign not only preserves the agricultural rural character of the town but also aids farmers in adapting to climate change, as olive trees can withstand various weather and water conditions in the area.
