Summary

The campaign aims to provide vocational and entrepreneurship training to 60 poor and marginalized women.

Challenge

The campaign targets women in the municipalities of Qatroun and Tigrahi. This region faces several challenges, with one of the primary issues being the distance of these municipalities from the service center and the capital. It is situated in the far southwest as a border region, with an estimated population of about 12,000 people. The area is culturally diverse, composed of three ethnic groups: Arabs, Tuareg, and Tebu, along with immigrants from various nationalities.

As previously mentioned, Qatroun serves as a border area and a crossing point for immigrants. Due to this diversity, women in the city of Qatroun face the burdens of poverty and marginalization. Unfortunately, neither government authorities nor organizations have focused on this neglected segment, mainly because of its remoteness from the country's center. Additionally, there is a high rate of unemployment among the local population, including young people and women, including widows, divorcees, university graduates, and diploma holders. Many girls have been forced to leave school due to challenging life circumstances.

Solution

The Al-Wedad Association for Women and Children's Rights has decided to initiate a training campaign, targeting 60 women from the city. This campaign will encompass various craft training programs, including sewing and detailing, cooking, mobile phone maintenance, and makeup art. These crafts are chosen because they can be easily pursued from the comfort of one's home.

Furthermore, the association will conduct entrepreneurship training for these women. This training will equip them with essential knowledge about managing personal projects, marketing, personal financial management, and the fundamentals of running their own businesses should they decide to start one. The association is committed to providing ongoing support and assistance to these women should they choose to establish their own businesses.

Long-Term Impact:

The campaign has a positive impact on supporting women by helping each of them develop their own craft and providing job opportunities. This benefits not only the women and their families but also contributes to stimulating the region's economy as a whole.
