Summary

The campaign aims to enhance the accessibility of community-based family planning services for young people, adolescents, women, men, and couples in four communes.

Challenge

Togo, a West African country with a low-income profile, grapples with significant challenges in maternal and neonatal health, along with a concerning prevalence of early youth and adolescent pregnancies. The Demographic Health Survey in Togo (EDST 2013-2014) reveals a maternal mortality ratio of 401 per 100,000 live births.


Solution

This project, spanning 2 years, is a targeted intervention poised to reverse prevailing trends and ensure the socio-economic autonomy of women and girls within the 4 communes of the Ogou district.

The campaign objectives are:

  • Providing family planning services among young people, adolescents, women, men, and couples.
  • Improving the health outcomes of young people, adolescents, women, and men.
  • Strengthening the socio-economic autonomy of women and girls.

Strategies for Achievement:

To realize these objectives, they will implement the following strategies:

  • Providing Family Planning (SRH/FP) services.
  • Establishing Savings Groups with a majority focus on women and girls.
  • Establishing schools and clubs to diversify educational talk themes and promote peer education.
  • Organizing a range of community communication activities, including educational talks, home visits, counseling, mass awareness campaigns, radio broadcasts, and focus groups.
  • Ensuring media coverage of the campaign launch and subsequent visibility on various platforms.
  • Implementing a robust monitoring and evaluation framework, incorporating adaptive learning to enhance the effectiveness of the campaign.
