Campaign Status
Ongoing Offline: The campaign is currently ongoing offline and, thus still in the process of collecting funds.
Summary
The campaign aims to provide cooperatives with practical training in techniques for processing and preserving agricultural products and to help them acquire the equipment needed to implement these techniques, which are rare in the region.
Challenge
The Faranah region is rich in agricultural resources and holds significant potential for local economic development. However, many cooperatives and groups of young women and girls working in this sector face challenges related to the processing and preservation of agricultural products, leading to substantial losses in production.
The techniques for processing and preserving agricultural produce in Faranah remain challenging for the groups and cooperatives operating there. Most of the methods used are still manual and outdated. The young girls and women tirelessly work for the development of this sector, but despite their efforts, they are often working harder than they are earning. Additionally, during periods of abundance, the disposal of fruits and vegetables becomes difficult, leading to increased wastage.
Solution
DEVISE's fundraising campaign aims to mobilize financial resources to equip cooperatives in the Faranah region with practical training in advanced techniques for processing and preserving agricultural products. The campaign will also help them acquire essential equipment that is currently rare in the area.
In addition, the funds raised will support the marketing of these processed products, ensuring stable and profitable outlets for the cooperatives. By providing this training and equipment, the campaign will enable these groups to reduce waste, extend the availability of agricultural products during shortages, and achieve greater profitability in the fruit and vegetable market. This initiative will have a lasting impact by building local capacity, stimulating the regional economy, and improving the livelihoods of women's farming communities.
