Summary

The campaign aims to provide gardening courses for children.

Challenge

"I wish to have my own vegetable garden so that I can enjoy fresh vegetables more often," expressed Rindu, occasionally sharing stories about his daily life. Rindu, aged 9, along with his friends, resides at the Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School in Sungai Belidak Village, Sungai Kakap District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. This school serves as a home for underprivileged children, orphans, and those in need from various regions.

The requirements and costs of Islamic boarding schools are rising to ensure food availability.

Solution

We have taken the initiative to cultivate a food garden on the grounds of the Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School. This effort aims to provide Rindu and his friends with access to fresh food while imparting knowledge in the field of agriculture. The goal is to foster the children's interest in becoming farmers in the future.

The Darul Fikri Islamic Boarding School is currently venturing into religious tourism development and harbors a vision of establishing its own food garden. The aspiration is that this food garden will not only serve as a sustainable source but also transform into a tourist destination.

The collected donations will be utilized for:

  • Preparation for establishing the garden
  • Purchase of gardening tools
  • Garden maintenance costs until harvest
  • Operational expenses for distributing harvests over 6 months
  • Training sessions for composting, gardening, pest management, and eco enzyme production.
