Ongoing Offline: The campaign is currently ongoing offline and, thus still in the process of collecting funds. Yet, until now $5,000 has been collected through the Live Love platform.

Summary

The campaign aims to address the waste crisis in 19 cities by collecting waste from 1,000,000 households.

Challenge

The absence of a public waste management system in Lebanon has given rise to an unprecedented garbage crisis. Without a structured and efficient waste disposal mechanism, the country faces significant challenges in handling and mitigating the impact of accumulating waste. This situation not only poses environmental hazards but also adversely affects the overall well-being of communities, emphasizing the urgent need for comprehensive waste management solutions.

Solution

Live Love Recycle is dedicated to making recycling accessible and straightforward. Our application serves as a bridge, connecting individuals with drivers and recycling facilities. By facilitating this connection, we contribute to the enhancement of the circular economy, promoting sustainable practices and safeguarding our environment.

As of now, we operate in Beirut and Tripoli, actively collecting and recycling waste for over 40,000 households. Our efforts have resulted in saving more than 6,000 tons of recyclables from polluting landfills and seas. Moreover, we take pride in creating 50 full-time jobs, providing employment opportunities for individuals from vulnerable communities. This not only contributes to waste reduction but also fosters economic empowerment and environmental sustainability in the regions we serve.

With your support, we aim to achieve three main objectives:

  • Extend our operations to encompass the Northern coast of Lebanon, providing services to over 1,000,000 households across 19 cities.
  • Hire up to 50 women and men to operate in new drop zone "shops," streamlining the recycling process and creating employment opportunities.
  • Acquire new lifting and sorting machines, enabling a 50% increase in productivity and a 20% reduction in overhead costs. This investment will not only enhance our efficiency but also contribute to the overall sustainability of our operations.
