Summary

The program aims to increase access to technical education and job-based vocational training for 30 young men and women.

Challenge

In light of the ongoing conflicts in Yemen, economic activity has sharply reduced, impacting people's self-reliance and livelihoods. Yemeni society faces various forms of deprivation, poverty, and exposure to violence, leading to a disruption in economic activity, loss of livelihoods, and challenges in meeting basic needs. The vocational training program is designed to provide essential skills to young people, offering a crucial initiative to enhance self-reliance and improve livelihood opportunities. Developing these skills enables young Yemenis to access more employment options and build independent, sustainable lives. The significance of these trainings lies in preparing individuals to enter the practical field and acquire essential work skills.

Solution

The aim of this campaign is to improve food security and livelihoods in Yemen by educating and training 30 young men and women, 20% of whom include children of orphans. This will be achieved through professional education and training using the apprenticeship methodology to enhance job opportunities and improve the living conditions of the targeted students.

The campaign focuses on enhancing the professional skills of male and female students required in the labor market in the targeted areas, enabling them to achieve greater economic self-reliance. This, in turn, will result in an improvement in their level of income and economic life.

Additionally, the project targets 15 skilled craftsmen who will provide training to students, utilizing their experience and skills to transfer knowledge to the beneficiaries of the project.
