Campaign Status
Ongoing Offline: The campaign is currently ongoing offline and, thus still in the process of collecting funds.
Summary
The campaign aims to provide tricycles specifically designed for disabled children to help them attend school.
Challenge
Several categories of disabilities have been caused in Chad due to diseases and various wars. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), people with disabilities are estimated to constitute 15% of the Chadian population according to their 2011 report, including children.
NGO REPHAT conducted a study in the 5th district municipality where many disabled children are kept at home even though they are of school age. The main cause is the lack of means of transportation which prevents them from going to school like other non-disabled children. Our campaign aims to help these disabled children go to school and receive a proper education.
Solution
To help disabled children go to school like other non-disabled children, the NGO REPHAT would like to mobilize funds to pay for tricycles and school supplies for them. These tricycles are adapted to their disability, and the NGO has already tried them with some disabled children in the Ouaddaï province and N'Djamena.
