Summary
This campaign aims to establish a comprehensive library for orphans within the "Salam Yurdu" educational center, offering free services to orphans in Azerbaijan.
Challenge
Books play a crucial role in expanding one's perspective on life, fostering the ability to accurately analyze life events, and enhancing the power of imagination. Unfortunately, children's enthusiasm for reading has waned in an era of technological advancement. Through our experience of over five years in training orphans, we have observed that the key factors in cultivating children's interest in reading are the establishment of a conducive reading environment and the provision of a diverse library.
For this reason, we regularly hold bibliotherapy hours and book reading days at the "Salam Yurdu" educational center. However, at present, the books of our center are not so rich. It is our hope to offer books that are interesting, useful and intended to convey higher values in response to children's interest in books.
Solution
Support classes for school subjects for students in grades 5-8, organization of preparatory sessions for students in grades 9-11, along with the fulfillment of the primary mission of the 'Salam Yurdu' educational center, as well as additional activities such as bibliotherapy sessions for students every week, reading hours, theater labs, film clubs, etc., are implemented.
Students engaged in these associations are encouraged to explore the books arranged on the bookshelves in the corridors of the "Salam Yurdu" educational center. They can discuss their readings with the center's teachers at any time, share their insights, and are even encouraged to prepare and deliver presentations on the books they've read. We will persist in conducting these activities while endeavoring to establish a diverse library. We aspire to foster a culture of reading by offering captivating illustrated books.
