Ongoing Offline: The campaign is currently ongoing offline and, thus still in the process of collecting funds.

Summary

The campaign aims to construct two blocks of solar-enabled classrooms, gender-disaggregated toilets, and parameters to secure access to the school premises benefitting 1,300 people (700 girls, 380 boys, 200 women, 80 men).

Challenge

Wafango, nestled in the picturesque Ribadu Ward of Fufore Local Government Area, Adamawa State, is our focus. This community faces challenges in providing adequate learning spaces for its children. In the community, there are bright minds eager to learn, but limited resources have hindered their access to education. This campaign is dedicated to the children of Wafango, who deserve a chance at a brighter future. We believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the right to education.

Education is a cornerstone for community development, and every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a safe and nurturing environment. The campaign is driven by the belief that empowering children through education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering hope for a brighter future.

Solution

We aim to create a conducive learning environment, ensuring every child has the opportunity to receive a quality education. We will do so by constructing a block of two classrooms and gender-disaggregated toilets. Additionally, we will establish parameters to secure access to the school premises, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the students.

These classrooms will not only be spaces for learning but will also be solar-enabled, allowing for extended study hours and creating a sustainable and eco-friendly learning environment.

Each block of classroom comes for $16,231, and the solar-enabled infrastructure will not only enhance the learning experience but also contribute to a sustainable and eco-friendly future for the community. Through this project, we would also produce a 3-seater Classroom with Wooden Desks and Chairs at the rate of $36.86, 200 units of these will be produced, and learners' kits will also be procured at the cost of $3,976.

Furthermore, the fund we seek will help support these children with learning materials such as exercise books, pencils, erasers, uniforms, and backpacks, teachers assigned to this school would also be supported with learning aids, and capacity building. Gender-disaggregated toilets and latrines will also be constructed to ensure that girls are able to maintain their dignity in and around the school premises.
