Summary

The project aims to provide children with special needs to undergo rehabilitation courses free of charge through therapeutic riding, doing exercises to strengthen the muscles of the spine.

Challenge

My name is Zhailibekova Khalby, I am a sociologist by profession, I work in the Youth Society of the Disabled.

My daughter, having graduated from the Medical Academy. Akhunbayeva in Bishkek, with great joy and pleasure, spoke about the amazing changes after hippo-therapy, - the fingers of the kids bent and unbent on their hands, which they could not unclench, stood on their legs more confidently, and this incredible achievements!

Solution

Motivated by this, we decided to open an equestrian club and launched the charitable hippotherapy project "Trotting from Diseases".

In the most beautiful picturesque place of the city of Taraz, in the May Grove, under the supervision of a medical worker, a psychologist in the fresh air, children with special needs undergo rehabilitation courses free of charge through therapeutic riding, doing exercises to strengthen the muscles of the spine.

Children with disabilities come to us by invataxi, and then they are transferred to a horse. The procedure is useful for children with cerebral palsy, as well as people with spinal injuries, muscle atrophy, obesity, vegetovascular dystonia and Down's syndrome. Without pain, without difficult procedures and crutches, with the help of a bio-simulator (horses), they successfully undergo rehabilitation.

We are very happy that we made it!

However, every year there are no fewer small patients. And the club is able to accept only 64 children. We would very much like to acquire a couple more excellent helpers. Now, if you could buy two more horses and one pony, then the performance would be even better.

Long-Term Impact

Providing horse riding session for 18 kids and 12 people with musculoskeletal disorders.
