The Youth Peer Afghanistan Organization /Y-Peer Afghanistan Network is a dynamic and impactful initiative aimed at addressing the pressing challenges faced by Afghan youth, particularly in the areas of education, reproductive health, and civic engagement. This project is an extension of the global Y Peer network, which focuses on empowering young people through peer education and advocacy.
Currently; YPAO successfully obtained a small grant project from UN-Women Afghanistan for supporting the organization female’s staff and conducting peer-to-peer activities in five provinces of Afghanistan, the duration of this small grant is for 8 months.
YPAO is commitment to advocating for women and girls' rights after the takeover of Afghanistan, YPAO worked with several international partners for evacuation of women, girl’s HRDs, Journalists and CSOs.
Youth Peer Afghanistan Organization has been working since 2011 as Y-Peer Afghanistan national network, and after that registered as NGO. In 2019 in Afghanistan for implementations of women and youth capacity building, SRHR, Family planning, and empowerment. After the takeover of the country by the De facto authority, Y-Peer lead worked with international partners for evacuation of women at risk who were involve in the activity’s implementation and many of other orientation sessions for women and girls by support of UNFPA, UNODC, IPPF, Australian AID & local partners.
YPAO is associated member of Y-Peer international working across the world for supporting women and girl’s rights and providing them with their freedom and to raise their voice for their rights. YPAO having close coordination with MRG, FLD, Freedom House and PD to supporting the Afghan Civil Societies Working for Women and Human Rights and CSOs at risks during the takeover of Afghanistan by the De facto authority. During the evacuation process more then 30 of Afghan Civil Societies Working for Women and Human Rights, journalists, Youth, girls and minorities are evacuation by the close coordination and relationship of YPAO with international partners to UK, Canada, EU and New Zealand.
The mission statement of YPAO is strengthen and spread rights, freedom, and high-quality health, humanitarian, educational and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing across the country.
The vision statement of YPAO is working for the reliability and growth of the country by national and international level for the youth’s male and female and working for opportunities of country youths in decision making for reaching youths contribution in all fields to the peak point.
YPAO target population and beneficiaries are women, girls, youth, HRDs, CSOs, and minorities of the community.
YPAO is purely women lead organization, and all its service are specified and delivering to women, girls and minority groups of the community for their existence and empowerment. So, there is no any issue with gender sensitivity, only the support staff who are require to be supporting their outside and coordination with the de facto are male, and there is no any specific issue which can make sensitivity within the organization.
YPAO is working in the field of women and girl’s empowerment, youth health, SRHR, Family planning, CSE, and many other teenage girls and women issues in respect of community development and empowerment since 2011 as international network and after that, formally registered as non-profit.
YPAO obtain small grant project from UN-Women Afghanistan to re-build and teaming the organization and staff for activities and project implementation, in this small grant YPAO will train and orient hundred of women and girls in five provinces of Afghanistan.
