Active Help Organization for Women and Children

Established in 2017 and registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy, the Active Help Organization for Women and Children (AHOWC) is a leading national non-profit organization focused on improving the lives of women, children, and marginalized communities in Afghanistan. With headquarters in Nangarhar, AHOWC is dedicated to fostering sustainable development in the sectors of WASH, healthcare, economic empowerment, education, food security, and poverty alleviation.

AHOWC is committed to alleviating poverty and improving the livelihoods of all Afghans, including individuals with disabilities and displaced persons, through inclusive programs in education, health, economic empowerment, and legal protection. Our mission is to ensure that every citizen, regardless of background, has access to essential resources, justice, and opportunities for a fulfilling life. We actively advocate for the rights and well-being of women, children, and marginalized groups throughout Afghanistan, with a focus on preventing and addressing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and promoting women's rights as fundamental human rights.
