Somali Youth Volunteers for Development Association (SOYVDA) was founded on 8th March 2017 by a group of youth activists who aspire to improve and upgrade the community and to reduce the burdens of poverty and illiteracy for the people of Somalia by providing access to food and clean water, basic education, healthcare programs and community development workshops. SOYVDA is a non-profit and Community based association whose membership is drawn from the broader Somali communities in and outside the country. SOYVDA which is the largest volunteer movement in Somalia has been in collaboration with Somali Public institutions, business community, civil societies and other youth organizations based in Somalia. In December 2018, SOYVDA, as an organization embracing hundreds of volunteer members, has been awarded as the best youth organization in Somalia. SOYVDA has over 200 volunteer members whose aim is to benefit for the community as a whole and underprivileged parts of the society in particular
