1       Preamble to SOSCON

Somali Society for Conservation of Nature (SOSCON) was Formed in the winter of 7th January 2018 by group of educated youth, who came together to conserve the environment and get solutions for environmental problems in Somalia realized the necessity of establishment this organization in respond the needy of our community to live a proper environment. The Organization works for all Society such Development Program, Recovery and Environmental protection, especially how to find the solution of recurrent disaster Risk, Eco-Restoration and how to find recovery and Resilience the People Affected drought and Floods in Somalia and its surrounding cities, districts, towns, and villages of the coastal areas –Somalia.

The legality of SOSCON, as Social Organization which focus on the fact problem of the Environment in Somalia and Global impacts for Climate Strike, the host Residents and Community Schools and Market awareness to avoid the degradation of Environment and adopt the climate shock in the world. The poverty level in Somalia provide the increasing IDPs and desert area. In the last year SOSCON worked Public Awareness to reduce conflicts between resident people based resource

The past years, Soscon contribute several activity to respond the fact, organize and build common social development as volunteer cooperation with Government and Inter-Governmental and non-State Actor, the Common Activity of social development and awareness include innovation of Somali Environmental Forum (SEF2019) is annual conference which sharing Knowledge, and Call Experts of environment and Water sector to debate the general challenges, also planting tree, we began the first small project of Somali Green revolution, and Project of Mogadishu Awareness of Environment and water worked with as a Network Somali Water Partnership (SWP) and Global Water partnership ( GWP) SOSCON is a non-government organization and nonprofit organization whose goal is living Somali natives a healthy environment.

Our social service programs include seminars for a warning risks from environmental damage, partaking cleaning the environment from wastes and plastic bags, consulting the farmers how they could get benefits from rivers and sharing and get solution as well as conduct research for the recurrent floods and draughts.

 Voluntary Organization Prioritized and Project Program: Major Areas of FGS Our Sensation is Proper Environment, Healthy, Quality Water and to help and Recover Venerable People in Somalia and also to be part development Progress in a society to enhance the awareness and knowledge of the Environment and water for the people through research and Capacity Building, and we will focus on everything of social developments related to the Environment such Generation restoration and organizing training programs.

The mission of SOSCON is to promote the awareness of the community’s potential hazards on Reduce charcoal production, rubbish, Plastic bags, Solid waste management, and Waste water in the environment, Energy, Environmental impact assessment, Protect areas, Health care, Rehabilitation, Water, Sanitation, Hygiene, Education , Gender Equality and Reduce the risks of flooding.
