Indonesia Flood (Sumatera) and Disaster - Send Emergency Aid

Summary In recent weeks, Indonesia has been struck by a series of devastating disasters - from landslides and floods, to volcanic eruptions and coastal storms. Communities in Aceh, Sumatera, Banjarnegara, Cilacap, the Semeru area, Sibolga, and many other regions are facing the same heartbreaking reality: homes destroyed, families displaced, and livelihoods swept away in moments. Thousands of our brothers and sisters are now living in temporary shelters. Challenge Indonesia's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that until early next year Indonesia will experience heavy rainfall and extreme weather. This situation is exacerbated by El-Nino or La Nina, many people's sources of income such as rice fields and others are damaged by this weather. This has worsened the poverty rate in Indonesia. Ironically, these floods are also followed by landslides and other disasters that often come and go. Solution BAZNAS Disaster Response will immediately distribute aid to affected communities in the form of clothes, food packages, hygiene kits, clean water, medical assistance, counseling, and other assistance. BAZNAS will also set up tents and other emergency needs at the shelter location for flash flood survivors. Long-Term Impact BAZNAS Indonesia always strives to prevent the impact of natural disasters from becoming greater. For this reason, BAZNAS, together with several related parties and stakeholders, work together to solve this problem. BAZNAS, through the livable house program will build damaged houses in disaster areas, in addition BAZNAS will also build economic independence for women disaster victims through BAZNAS microfinance coaching.
