Campaign Status
Ongoing Offline: The campaign is currently ongoing offline and, thus still in the process of collecting funds.
Summary
The campaign aims to support the production of 1,000 recycled bags.
Challenge
We often hear about the #TolakSekaliPakai (#SayNoToSingleUse) campaign, yet the continued use of single-use plastic bags persists. One reason is the default availability of plastic bags. Did you know that the plastic bags discarded into the environment in Indonesia amount to 10 billion pieces per year, totaling 85,000 tons? This data is sourced from the Indonesian Plastic Industry Association (INAPLAS) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2019.
Solution
The project will:
- create at least 1,000 bags from recycled materials to extend the product life cycle. We believe in the concept of paying it forward! These bags will be distributed to communities involved in donation drives, whether for Ramadan groceries or for those affected by COVID-19, spreading the message of environmental support.
- Collaborate with local artisan partners to create a mutually beneficial livelihood for them and those heavily affected by COVID-19.
- Produce engaging short films to increase awareness about your environmentally friendly contributions. The content will promote an eco-friendly lifestyle with sustainable products resulting from collaborations with SMEs that prioritize the environment, aiming for the initiative to become self-sustaining in the future.
We envision #PatunganTas contributing to systemic change, particularly in distributing recycled and reused bags to traditional markets, encouraging sellers to shift away from single-use plastic bags.
