Summary

The campaign aims to launch vocational training in Climate-Smart Urban Integrated Agriculture, as well as a small business incubator program, for 30 displaced women and girls.

Challenge

The ongoing armed conflict in Cameroon's North West and South West regions has devastated local communities, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to flee their homes. Among the most vulnerable are women and girls displaced by the violence. Many have lost their livelihoods, leaving them without the means to support themselves and their families.

Solution

We believe that economic empowerment is key to helping these displaced women and girls rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency. That's why we're launching a vocational training on Climate Smart Urban Integrated Agriculture as well as a small business incubator program to provide them with the skills and resources they need to launch sustainable enterprises.

Through this program, participants will receive hands-on training in in-demand trades like tailoring, cosmetology, food processing, and artisanal crafts as well as climate smart agriculture. They will also learn essential business skills like business management, accounting, marketing, and inventory management. At the end of their training, each participant will receive a startup grant of $400 to launch their own small business.

But the support doesn’t stop there. Each new entrepreneur will be paired with an experienced local business mentor who will provide ongoing guidance and support, ensuring the long-term viability of their enterprise. The mentors will assist the women in navigating challenges, connecting with suppliers and customers, and offering advice on growing their businesses.

By equipping these displaced women and girls with vocational skills, business knowledge, and start-up capital, they will gain the tools needed to become self-sufficient and lift their families out of poverty. Your contribution to this crowdfunding campaign will make a real and lasting difference in the lives of some of Cameroon’s most vulnerable people.
