The Problem

In Tunisia, more than 70% of parents send their children to private lessons. 54% of them receive lessons from their own class teachers for better results. According to the World Bank, the turnover of private lessons in Tunisia is around $400M. These lessons are often expensive, with poor quality of education and a lack of security and control. Some students are made to attend lessons at night. Despite the huge investment, every year 100,000 students drop out of school. Moreover, unemployed teachers in underprivileged cities don't have access to this market because it is centralized.

The Solution

Our solution is Taderok, an educational social network and a marketplace for online tutoring that connects students with dedicated teachers as well as the resources they need to succeed and reach their full potential during their learning journey. Through our platform, we provide teachers with digital tools and support to teach online and generate extra income, while parents can explore resources that their children need at an affordable cost. Most importantly, families living in rural areas can get access to quality education without moving to larger cities.

Impact

Taderok aims to make decentralized, quality education accessible to learners regardless of their location or social status. It provides decent work to any content creators who have skills that could be taught to learners, which facilitates economic growth.
