Local Initiative for Sustainable Development, LISUDEV

Local Initiative for Sustainable Development (LISUDEV) is a grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to healthcare, clean water and sanitation, and empowering women and girls in rural Cameroon. LISUDEV was established in 2020 and legalized in 2022 (under Cameroon law No. 90/053 of 19 December 1990) to transform lives at the grassroots level.

We exist to improve the quality of life, promote well-being, and reduce poverty among underprivileged populations and communities in Cameroon. Our activities include advocacy, capacity building, health promotion, infrastructure development (construction, rehabilitation, equipping), education and awareness raising, provision of targeted support, and community development.

LISUDEV was founded on the premise that it is critical to elevate poor and vulnerable people’s needs and ambitions in rural communities to take responsibility for their communities. All the organization’s works aim to build a healthy and sustainable society for all – A society where everyone has access to basic social needs, irrespective of gender, religion, race, or geographical location, and is empowered to live self-sufficient lives. Our initiative work towards meeting UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. We strive to empower vulnerable populations and communities and build brighter futures where everyone can thrive.
