Akhuwat

Since its inception, Akhuwat as a non-profit organization has been working to bring its vision of poverty alleviation to life through its interest-free microfinance program, which enables the least advantaged sections of society to create sustainable pathways out of poverty. Additionally, it has expanded its development interventions in education, healthcare, and social inclusion of the most marginalized segments of society. Akhuwat has several programs, including Akhuwat Education Services, Akhuwat Health Services, Akhuwat Clothes Bank, Akhuwat Food Bank, and the Akhuwat Khawajasira Support Program. Akhuwat also has experience working in emergency contexts, for relief and rehabilitation, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2022 floods. Akhuwat works extensively in strategic, operational and research capacities with the Government of Pakistan (federal and provincial levels), as well as with the private-sector and other non-profits. It operates with strict political and religious impartiality and believes in the values of transparency and compassion across its programs.
