Emergency Medical Response through CSOsThe Problem
There is a lack of community awareness about the risks caused by epidemics, coupled with low maternity health and social awareness amongst women in most rural and remote areas of Libya. There is also a lack of healthcare centres and specialized cadres in midwifery skills (obstetrics) in these areas. This exposes pregnant women to great health risks.
The Solution
The midwives program plans to empower and train 12 women in midwifery skills and enable them to provide healthcare services to pregnant women in rural areas. The project also aims to create a mobile application for medical consultations with midwifes and will launch a media campaign about the dangers of various disease epidemics and their effects. The project aims to reach 70% of pregnant women in remote cities through its awareness programs.
Impact
The project seeks to provide the necessary medical services to pregnant women in rural areas. It contributes to the good health and wellbeing of vulnerable women and empowers women with midwifery skills. It also aims to provide relief during emergencies, epidemics, and crises.
