The Problem

Home care in Lebanon is a highly informal and chaotic marketplace, where families struggle to access quality services. Working with home care agencies is expensive and families do not have a lot of flexibility in choosing their caregivers. Also, finding and vetting freelance caregivers is time-consuming and hiring them is potentially risky. On the other hand, caregivers, the majority of whom come from underprivileged communities, often face poor working conditions and are at a high risk of experiencing workplace violence.

The Solution

Find a Nurse provides a user-friendly, online platform that makes the selection of the right caregiver for families quick, easy and problem-free. Such a system guarantees quicker caregiver responses, improves the efficiency of the caregiver-patient matching process, and reduces costs of care delivery. Our caregivers are our primary beneficiaries, and these are predominantly women who come from underserved communities (80% of our caregivers). We already have more than 300 caregivers registered on our platform, and we have served more than 585 families.

Impact

Find a Nurse aims to contribute to the increase of decent jobs by enhancing access of vulnerable groups, particularly women from marginalized communities, to flexible work in healthy and safe working conditions, while protecting their rights, and preventing exploitation. The project also promotes good health and wellbeing by enhancing home care accessibility in remote areas.
